For this unit, please demonstrate that you understand the types of camera movements and shots described on this page and discussed in class. Do this by capturing the following shots with your camcorder: 1. Wide/Establishing Shot 2. Full Shot 3. Medium Shot 4. Close-Up 5. Extreme Close-Up 6. Low Camera Height 7. Medium Camera Height 8. Assignment 3:
Record the following series of shots exactly as written and then edit them together with video editing software. Add a title and credits to the finished, exported video. THE WASTEBASKET SEQUENCE: 1. Establishing shot of a person sitting at a table/desk reading a note. 2. Close-up of the person's face as he or she reads the note, then starts to wad up the paper. 3. Close-up of the note being wadded. 4. Wide shot of the person throwing the wadded note towards the wastebasket and out of the frame. 5. Close-up of the paper landing in the wastebasket (remember screen direction and make sure the wadded paper comes from the proper direction - don't cross the axis line of action). 6. Medium shot of the person giving the camera a thumbs up. |
