You must make sure that any images you place on your website are not copyrighted. Some images have CREATIVE COMMONS licencses that allow you free use under select conditions. Others are completely copyright free.
For practice, choose one of the following subjects listed in the column below and find a copyright-friendly picture to represent it. If it has a creative commons license, identify what the use restrictions are. Then use an online citation generator to cite the image. Put all of this information, including the picture on a simple html document. Feel free to format the page using any of the html tags we've learned so far and then upload your work to the shared Google drive folder.

Images that you are using which belong to others should always be cited, even if they are copyright free. You can use an online citation maker to make the job of creating a citation much easier. Son of Citation machine is an excellent example.
Another citation site is EasyBib. Citing sources doesn't need to be intrusive to your web design. For example, you can put the citation in as the ALT tag information so users can see the citation when they hover over an image. |
