External Styles
CSS styling can also be stored in a file external to the html file. Styles in an external page are NOT surrounded by the <style></style> tag. In addition, an external css page should be saved with a .css extension instead of a .html extension. The css file should also be saved in the same location as the html file in which it is to be used.
To link an external CSS page to an html file, put the following into the section of your html file:
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="nameoffile.css"/>
where nameoffile.css is the name you've chosen for the css document.
