Web Page Naming Conventions
You can use up to 255 characters when naming a web page (but why would you?!) While web addresses (URLs) are not case sensitive, the file names for the pages are. You must follow these important guidelines when naming your files:
1. The name of your homepage should be index.html
2. All file and folder names must start with a letter.
3. Only letters, digits, and the underscore character are allowed.
4. Never have spaces in your file name. If you must, you may use the underscore charcater ( _ ) instead.
5. The extension for web pages must be .htm or .html.
6. Extensions for images should be .gif or .jpg.
7. It is best to use lowercase letters.
